who we are

Behind Give to Get Jobs you’ll find a mother-daughter team striving to prove you can give back to get paid. We know the jobs are out there, and we want to find them for you. But how did we get here?

Stacy McCoy

After graduating cum laude from Wake Forest University with a B.A. in Religious Studies and a double minor in International Development & Policy and International Studies I was all set to jump into the international development world. Instead, I moved to Los Angeles so my husband could pursue a Ph.D. Los Angeles is by no means a hub for international development. So, I decided to spend some time in the non-profit sector. I found it frustrating because of the instability from relying on donors and the bureaucratic red tape that hindered getting things done. So, I gave the corporate sector a try. The corporate sector left me unfulfilled; I was not giving back to society. I really wanted a job in between these two worlds, a job where I could give back and get paid. I love a solid business model. I also love having a positive impact on society. As a chronic job seeker, I knew the jobs were out there, but found them difficult to find. And so, Give to Get Jobs was created.

I currently live in Los Angeles with my husband and our dog. When I’m not working you can find me at the dog park, hiking, wine tasting, or relaxing on the couch watching a movie.

After working as a legal secretary for almost 15 years, I left my day job to become a stay-at-home mom. The next 20 years I spent raising my two daughters. But after a divorce and the economic crash, I decided it was time to re-enter the workforce. However, I didn't know where to start. Like many baby boomers, I felt lost and out of touch having been out of the workforce for so many years. I knew I wanted a job that would not only utilize my prior skills, but one that would also enable me to give back. And so, I joined forces with Stacy to bring you Give to Get Jobs.

I currently live south of Boston with my other daughter. I enjoy reading about business, social media, and health.
